This lesson is a fun way to practice coloring skills. By drawing a curved line and filling in the green and red, students will work on craftsmanship.

Step One

Adult helpers can draw a ‘U’ shaped line and allow artists to draw a green line on it. Then a second ‘U’ shape can be drawn inside the green one. The artists will draw red on that. The artists will then color in the red.

Step Two

Using a black permanent marker, draw black ovals to make seeds.

Step Three

Cut on the outside of the green.

Step Four

Glue a half size rectangle onto the background. Use washable marker to make an oval on the paper. Use water on a brush to make the oval larger.

Step Five

Glue the watermelon shape onto the background paper. It should cover some of the black oval.
