A Great Resource for Art Educators: The Art of Education
We at Art to Remember know that as teachers, you carry a very hectic schedule. Some of us have been teachers, others are married to them, we have kids that adore them, and all of us appreciate you. Amidst the crazy life of an art educator, there are a few great resources that help make life a bit easier (and a little more fun too!).
One of our favorite resources is The Art of Education (AOE). AOE was founded by Jessica Balsley, an art teacher working towards her master’s degree, who wanted to provide a great place for (ridiculously relevant) professional development. She has done that, and more, and now offers daily articles, classes, conferences, a magazine, lesson plans and videos. Below are a few of our favorites:
- The Updated Guide to Art Fundraisers: This is a comprehensive guide of art based fundraisers. Check it out and sign up to start earning more money for your program
- National Online Conference: The winter conference is this weekend! This is a great opportunity to get your professional development credits, while sitting in your pajamas on your couch. It’s a win-win. If you cannot attend the bi-annual conference, AOE also offers fully accredited online classes.
- 2014 Art Ed Blogs of the Year: There are a ton of amazing bloggers out there and the AOE just released the winners in each category.
Head on over the AOE’s site and check everything out. They are a great resource!
