NAEA Boston—Another Outstanding Conference!
NAEA 2019 was another outstanding conference. With a record 5,000+ in attendance, we were thrilled to meet so many incredible art educators from across the globe. And Boston did not disappoint as a host city, with its twinkling city lights and beautiful ocean views.
The best part of the trip for us was getting to meet you (and put a face with a name for those that have partnered with us for years), listen to your stories, better understand the needs of your classroom, and hear about your experiences fundraising with us. We also enjoyed meeting so many new, friendly faces and discussing the ways that we can work together in the future.
If you are interested in attending NAEA in the future, we heard that the sessions were fascinating and relevant and that there were numerous unique, hands-on workshops. One of the biggest overall benefits reported across the board was how rewarding it was to gather with other art educators, share ideas, and forge a stronger professional network of like-minded peers.
Of course, the conference wasn’t all work and no play. There was an opening night pARTy, tours of art exhibitions and museums, and even mock interviews—speed dating style! There were also tons of drawings and giveaways (like our ChattySnaps lanyards—the Frida Kahlo button was the favorite!). And we would be remiss if we didn’t mention all the amazing outfits and accessories that so many attendees sported. Yes, we are looking at you, Cassie Stephens—pretty please, will you make us one of your beautiful Frida Kahlo dresses?!
We miss you all and are already looking forward to next year’s NAEA conference in Minneapolis! If you are interested in joining us there, now is a great time to start talking to your school district to see if they’ll cover the cost.
